Kosher Kingdom reopens in Golders Green on Sunday 1 November at 7am, at a new address, 217-219 Golders Green Road, five months after the May fire. Hours inside.
Kosher Kingdom will reopen in Golders Green on Sunday 1 November. Doors open at 7am.
It is not going back to its old shop. The supermarket has built a new store at 217-219 Golders Green Road, NW11 9BY, and its own website gives that as its new address. The firm calls it the Limes Avenue site.
The Golders Green branch has been shut since a fire on Golders Green Road on 27 May.
The fire in May
The London Fire Brigade’s incident record says it took the first of 59 calls at 6.47am. Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters attended, and the fire was under control by 2.27pm.
The Brigade’s record says:
- the ground-floor shop was destroyed
- a storage area at the back partly collapsed
- part of the first floor and a small part of the second floor were damaged
- the flats above and nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution
- nobody was hurt
Fire investigators, working with the Metropolitan Police, said the fire was not believed to be suspicious.
The old shop was at Russell Parade, Golders Green Road, NW11 9NN. That is the address on the Food Standards Agency register, which still lists it with a 5 rating from August 2025.
Five months from hoarding to tills
Kosher Kingdom has posted a dated photo record of the build on its website. It shows:
- 19 August: hoarding goes up
- 26 August: site clearance and groundworks
- 8 to 10 September: the frame goes up and cranes lift the roof
- 15 September: shopfront glazing
- 16 September: fit-out begins
- 7 to 8 October: exterior finished
- 15 October: doors and the opening banner go in
- 19 to 21 October: fridges, counters, checkouts, trolleys and the first shelves

What it means for you
- Golders Green shoppers get their local kosher supermarket back from Sunday morning, at the new address rather than the old parade.
- The Edgware branch at 2-3 Glengall Road, HA8 8TD, stays open as usual, the shop says. It appears on the FSA register with a 4 rating given on 9 August 2026.
- Loyalty card holders keep the same scheme. The shop’s site says cardholders get 10% off frozen food, greengrocery and wine on Mondays, with some exclusions.
