Nine Barnet pubs serving a Sunday roast, from £15.49 at the Three Hammers to £28 at the Bald Faced Stag, with booking, hours and hygiene ratings for each.
For a Sunday roast in Barnet, most people land on the Orange Tree by the pond in Totteridge, the Bohemia brewpub in North Finchley, or the Bald Faced Stag in East Finchley, where a trio of roasts is £28. The Gate in Arkley is the one that takes no bookings at all. Every entry and price was checked against the pub’s own website and Sunday menu on 25 October 2026.
We have not eaten at these pubs for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the pub says about its Sunday lunch, the prices on its published Sunday menu, its hours and booking rules, and its Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. Menus and prices change, so check before you go.
One name you will not find: the Toby Carvery at the Red Lion on High Barnet’s High Street, long the borough’s best-known carvery, is now marked “now closed” on Toby Carvery’s own website.

It is the only pub in this guide that takes no bookings: “We’ve never taken bookings”, the site says, so that everyone can visit, and a host seats people as tables come free. Roast dinners are served on Sundays and bank holidays alongside the full menu, with the roasts of the day on the chalkboards in the pub rather than online. The children’s menu lists roast beef, pork belly or turkey at £9.95. Open Sunday 12pm to 10.30pm, food 12pm to 9pm. Call 020 8449 7292. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 26 May 2026). East Finchley
The Bald Faced Stag, High Road, East Finchley
The Bald Faced Stag, on the corner of the High Road and East End Road, is part of the Urban Pubs and Bars group. Its own site promises “Sunday roasts to knock your socks off”, made with premium British meat, and a large garden kept open all year with heaters and covers. The Sunday menu has the highest prices in this guide: 35-day aged sirloin £25, Duroc pork belly £23, free-range chicken £22, a beetroot, squash and nut Wellington £19.50, a trio of roasts £28, and a slow-cooked lamb shoulder for two at £58. An optional 12.5% service charge is added. A pub quiz follows at 7.30pm. Open Sunday 12pm to 10.30pm, kitchen 12pm to 9pm. Call 020 8442 1201 or book online. Roasts come with sage and onion roast potatoes, greens, parsnips, carrots and gravy. Children’s roasts are £6.79, and the page says there is “plenty of free car parking on site”, rare for a Barnet pub. Opening hours are not shown in plain text, so check the booking page before going. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 24 January 2025). Hammers Lane, NW7 4EA. Our listing.
The Spaniards Inn, Spaniards Road, Hampstead Heath

How we chose
These are the pubs in the borough that publish a Sunday roast you can check, not a list of our favourites. We started from the Food Standards Agency register for Barnet Council and left out anything rated below 3, then kept only pubs whose own website names a Sunday roast and, wherever one is published, its prices. We spread the list across the borough. Prices and hours come from each pub’s own website and Sunday menu on 25 October 2026; the Gate posts its adult roasts on chalkboards rather than online, so we give its children’s prices only. Several pubs we looked at publish no Sunday menu, and the Red Lion carvery in High Barnet has closed.
