Cup of Joy, Dan & Decarlo and Em's Coffee lead 8 Barnet brunch spots, with menu prices, opening hours, booking rules and hygiene ratings, checked October 2026.

For brunch in Barnet, most people land on East Finchley’s High Road: Cup of Joy, with the longest brunch menu in the borough and a Turkish breakfast, and Dan & Decarlo, the family-run cafe that has been there since 2009. Em’s Coffee is the Whetstone pick, and Huddle Caffe serves an all-day breakfast in High Barnet. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own website on 27 October 2026.

We have not eaten at these places for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the venue publishes: what it says it serves, prices from its own menu, opening hours and booking rules. Hygiene ratings come from the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Menus and prices change, so check before a special trip.

Margot Bakery, East End Road

Margot opened “in a dilapidated shop in February 2016”, its about page says, and now also has a shop in Highgate. This is a bakery rather than a brunch kitchen: the bread and pastries, including babka, brioche and croissants, are leavened with sourdough, and the shop serves Campbell & Syme coffee, homemade granola, sandwiches, sourdough focaccia, savoury and sweet pastries and “changing daily specials”. It bakes with organic free-range eggs from Rookery Farm. Challah is on Fridays only. There is seating inside and out, and it takes card only, no cash. The site does not publish prices. Open Wednesday to Saturday 8am to 4pm; closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, according to its own site. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 18 July 2025). 121 East End Road, N2 0SZ.

93 Degrees, Regents Park Road, Finchley Central

93 Degrees has been “at 213 Regents Park Road since 2017, on the corner where Finchley Central climbs up Holden Road”, its own site says: an “Italian café, espresso bar, kitchen”, open seven days a week. It is one of the earlier openers in Finchley, at 7am on weekdays. The site is being rebuilt and does not publish a menu at the moment, so call before going for a particular dish. Open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5pm. Call 020 3662 0033. The FSA lists it as 93ºC Coffee, rated 5 (FSA, 29 October 2025). 213 Regents Park Road, N3 3LD.

Huddle Caffe, High Street

Huddle Caffe is an independent cafe near the top of the High Street, with a second branch in Winchmore Hill, and calls itself “a community hub”. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 11 April 2026). 224B High Street, Barnet EN5 5SZ. Our listing.

Mama Fifi, The Spires, High Street

Mama Fifi describes itself as “Mediterranean–Italian” and serves breakfast every day before its lunch and dinner menus. Its brunch page sets out three breakfasts: a Full English with Cumberland sausage, a Turkish breakfast with simit, menemen, sucuk, honey and kaymak, cheeses and olives, and a Mediterranean plate of grilled halloumi, avocado, cherry tomatoes and cucumber. Breakfast prices are on its menus page but not in text we could check. The site gives breakfast hours as 9am to midday on its contact details and 9am to 2pm on the brunch page, so check if you are going late. It says walk-ins are welcome on weekdays and booking is recommended at weekends; book through the website or call 020 8191 1222. Hygiene rating 4 (FSA, 6 January 2026). Golders Green

Head Room, Golders Green Road

Head Room is a kosher cafe run as a social enterprise by the mental health charity Jami, which opened it in 2016 in its former charity shop, the Jewish Chronicle reported; free groups and peer-led activities run there too. It has no website of its own. Its OpenTable page lists it as open for breakfast, brunch and lunch Sunday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, under Federation kosher supervision, with an earlier close on Fridays on some versions of the page, and takes bookings there. It is closed on Saturdays. Hygiene rating 4 (FSA, 27 February 2025). 89 Golders Green Road, NW11 8EN.

How we chose

These are the brunch places people search for in Barnet, chosen on the public record rather than on taste: a published breakfast or brunch menu, how long the place has been trading, and its FSA hygiene rating. Every venue here is rated 4 or 5. We left out several busy breakfast cafes, including some on Mill Hill Broadway and in Golders Green, because they publish no website of their own that we could check their hours and menus against on the day. Chains are not listed. Prices and hours are as published on 27 October 2026; check before you go, especially over Christmas.
